Striking interest in Pre-Commercial Procurement
An IMAILE seminar aiming to promote the project’s forthcoming pre-commercial procurement (PCP) call attracted no less than 20 participants when it was held in the city of Halmstad, Sweden on February 24th.
Lead partner Halmstad municipality in cooperation with the support partner Alexanderson Institute, both from the Halland region of Sweden, hosted the seminar to promote the forthcoming PCP call that is set to be launched in May this year.
The seminar was part of a wider global market consultation preceding the upcoming PCP call. The prime aim with the market consultation is to establish and deepen the dialogue with potential suppliers in order to increase mutual understanding between procurers and suppliers, a key factor in pre-commercial procurement.
The concept of pre-commercial procurement attracted a great deal of curiosity among the seminar participants. Several companies expressed interest for further information and intentions to participate. The seminar further clearly confirmed that the public-private dialogue that is built into the PCP concept is very much in demand from both sides. PCP is an attractive way of stimulating innovation capacity and as such not unlikely to be the shape of procurement to come.
Similar seminars will take place during the spring in Finland, Germany and Spain. A larger international seminar will also happen adjacent to the world’s largest ICT expo, CEBIT in Hannover, this event is scheduled to March 19th.
